Privacy Policy

The Peptide Companion is a static reference site. There are no accounts, no forms, no comments, and nothing to sign up for. This page explains the little the site collects and where it goes.

What the site collects

The site has no login and no forms, so it never asks for your name, email address, or anything else about you. There is no database of visitors.

The site does not set cookies of its own.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify’s servers receive your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request in order to deliver them, and may keep those in server logs for a limited time. Netlify’s own privacy policy describes how it handles that data.

Analytics

The site may use Google Analytics to learn which pages people read and how they arrive. When analytics is running, Google collects the pages you visit, roughly where you are (a city or region, not an address), the device and browser you use, and the site or search that sent you. Google sets its own cookies to tell returning visitors from new ones. Google’s privacy policy covers what it does with that data.

We look at the reports in aggregate to decide what to write next. We do not use them to identify you.

You can stop analytics by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking third-party scripts in your browser. The site works the same either way.

Pages link to sources such as PubMed, the FDA, medical journals, and news organizations, and to a community Discord server. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy policy applies, not this one. We do not control what those sites collect.

Email

If you write to contact@thepeptidecompanion.com, we keep your message so we can reply and, if it reports an error, fix it. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share your address.

Your data

Because the site keeps no records of its own, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. Analytics data is held by Google under its policy. If you have a question about anything else, email us and we will answer it.

Children

The site is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the site changes, for example when analytics is turned on. The effective date at the top changes with it.
