How it works

  1. Binds GnRH receptors on the pituitary gland, directly triggering the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).

Gonadorelin is a lab-made copy of a hormone your brain already makes — it tells the pituitary gland to release the hormones that drive testosterone production and fertility.

  2. Because it acts on the same receptor as the body's own natural GnRH, pulsatile dosing preserves the normal feedback signaling of the reproductive hormone axis, unlike continuous dosing which can suppress it.

Timing matters a lot here: used in the right pulsing pattern, it keeps the body's natural hormone system "switched on," which is why it's used to support fertility during testosterone therapy rather than replacing testosterone directly.

Result

Directly triggers the pituitary hormone release that drives natural testosterone production and fertility signaling — most commonly used today to help preserve fertility and testicular function in men undergoing testosterone replacement therapy.
