KPV

Research

KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine)

Aliases
alpha-MSH fragment
Administration
Subcutaneous injection (research), Oral (research), Topical (research)

Overview

KPV is the smallest active fragment of alpha-MSH, retaining its parent hormone's potent anti-inflammatory effects without any of its pigmentation activity. It has been extensively studied in rodent models of inflammatory bowel disease and skin inflammation, and is a component of the KLOW peptide stack alongside BPC-157, TB-500, and GHK-Cu.

Treatments studied

Inflammatory bowel disease (preclinical)

Blocks the NF-κB inflammatory pathway extensively studied in rodent models of colitis.

Skin inflammation (preclinical)

Reduces local production of inflammatory cytokines without the pigmentation effects of its parent hormone.

Recovery support (research)

Its anti-inflammatory action is thought to complement tissue-repair peptides during recovery.
