Sermorelin is the first 29 amino acids of natural GHRH — the shortest fragment that retains full biological activity. It was FDA approved in the 1990s under the brand name Geref for diagnosing and treating growth hormone deficiency in children, though the manufacturer discontinued the product for business reasons. It remains available today through compounding pharmacies.
