ARA-290

How it works

  1. Selectively activates the innate repair receptor (a heteromeric complex of the EPO receptor and CD131), distinct from the classical EPO receptor responsible for red blood cell production.

Full EPO does two things: protects damaged tissue AND tells your body to make more red blood cells. This peptide isolates just the protective effect, leaving the blood-cell-boosting part behind.

  2. This selective activation triggers anti-inflammatory and tissue-protective signaling (via the JAK2/STAT5 and PI3K/Akt pathways) in damaged or hypoxic tissue without stimulating hematopoiesis.

That's important because the red-blood-cell effect is what makes EPO risky (and banned in sports) โ€” this peptide is designed to get the healing benefit without that specific risk.

Result

Research suggests meaningful, long-lasting relief from nerve-related pain and inflammation, achieved without the red-blood-cell-boosting effects of full erythropoietin โ€” though it remains investigational and is not yet FDA approved for any use.
