Overview

Dihexa is a synthetic compound derived from angiotensin IV research, engineered to be orally active and blood-brain-barrier penetrant while retaining potent activity on the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-Met pathway. Although sometimes marketed as a 'peptide,' its structure is modified well past what's chemically considered a peptide, making it a small molecule. All published data is from rodent studies.

Treatments studied

Treatment categories

Cognitive impairment (preclinical)

Promoted a dramatic increase in new synaptic connections in rodent brain models.

Alzheimer's disease

Targets the HGF/c-Met pathway implicated in neurodegeneration, though only in animal studies to date.
