Overview

GHRP-6 was one of the first growth hormone releasing peptides developed and remains widely studied for its strong stimulation of natural growth hormone release. It is also one of the most potent appetite stimulants among the GHRP family, an effect tied to the same ghrelin receptor pathway responsible for its GH-releasing activity, which has made it of particular interest for research into cachexia and appetite-related conditions alongside its muscle- and recovery-related uses.

Treatments studied

Growth hormone deficiency

One of the original, most extensively studied growth hormone secretagogues in this category.

Cachexia (research)

Its pronounced appetite-stimulating effect, a side effect in other contexts, is studied as a potential benefit for wasting conditions where increased food intake is the goal.

Muscle wasting (research interest)

Combines GH stimulation with a strong appetite boost, a combination studied for supporting muscle mass in wasting conditions.
