Overview

Hexarelin is a synthetic growth hormone secretagogue and one of the most potent compounds in the GHRP family, studied for its strong stimulation of growth hormone release as well as a distinct cardioprotective effect observed independent of its GH-releasing activity. Its potency has made it a subject of particular interest in cardiac research, though its strength also means it is associated with more pronounced desensitization and cortisol/prolactin effects than milder secretagogues like Ipamorelin.

Treatments studied

Growth hormone deficiency

Among the most potent GH secretagogues studied, producing one of the largest GH pulses of any compound in its class.

Cardiac protection (research)

Its cardioprotective effect works through a separate receptor pathway (including CD36) independent of GH release, a distinguishing feature within this peptide family.
