Hexarelin
Research PhaseHexarelin (Examorelin)
- Category
- Growth Hormone
- Aliases
- Examorelin, HEX
- Administration
- Subcutaneous injection, Intranasal (studied)
How it works
- Activates the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) with especially high potency, producing one of the strongest GH pulses of any secretagogue studied.
Hexarelin is like a stronger version of the growth-hormone-releasing peptides — it hits the same target, just harder, producing a bigger GH surge.
- Independently activates cardiac-specific binding sites (including CD36) that produce cardioprotective effects distinct from its GH-releasing activity.
Interestingly, it also seems to protect heart tissue through a completely separate pathway, unrelated to its growth hormone effect — a rare dual mechanism among this class of peptide.
Result
Produces one of the strongest growth hormone pulses of any secretagogue studied, alongside a distinct heart-protective effect — though its potency also comes with a stronger appetite and hormone-desensitization trade-off than milder alternatives like Ipamorelin.
