Overview

IGF-1 LR3 is a modified, longer-acting analog of insulin-like growth factor 1, engineered with additional N-terminal amino acids and an arginine substitution that dramatically reduces its binding to IGF-binding proteins, extending its half-life roughly 100-fold compared to native IGF-1. This makes it far more metabolically active for a much longer period.

Treatments studied

Treatment categories

Muscle growth (research)

Directly activates the same growth-signaling receptors responsible for most of growth hormone's muscle-building effect.

Post-injury recovery (research interest)

Insulin-like growth signaling is studied for accelerating tissue repair after injury.
