Approved prescription drug in Russia/Ukraine; unscheduled research compound elsewhere in the U.S. In July 2026 the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted 8-5 to recommend Semax for the 503A Bulks List, which would make it eligible for U.S. pharmacy compounding — this is a recommendation only, not yet legal to compound in the U.S., pending formal FDA rulemaking.
